Will my new puppy be at risk from aggressive foxes if I install a dog flap?
I am trying to find a means to talk to other dog owners about whether there is a threat from foxes for dogs at night. I am about to get a puppy and am planning on installing a dog flap, but I am concerned of aggressive foxes?

Personally I would not recommend the use of a dog flap for a puppy at all! Apart from the fact puppies can get into all sorts of scrapes when unattended, one of my main concerns would be that of dog theft! The thought of a puppy out alone at night, or at anytime for that matter, horrifies me! Please get professional advice and/or do some proper research on puppy training and responsible dog ownership before obtaining your puppy. You should also consider getting your puppy micro-chipped too.

I would certainly agree with Andi about the risks involved in getting a flap for a puppy. Irritating as it may be, one of the costs in having a puppy is having to attend to it. A flap may mean that you don't have to get up, but may also mean that when you do get up, you find that you no longer have a puppy - and there are several ways that that can happen, choking on a foreign body, an attack by another animal, theft etc.

Hi there...all I can do is very strongly emphasise what Andi has just posted:NO WAY would this be a sensible option. In fact I would say it would be complete madness ,for the reasons mentioned.
