Why does my puppy urinate in front of visitors?

This is generally associated with very shy or submissive puppies. A puppy that is normally house trained but urinates in front of strangers is showing stress-related behaviour. Your puppy will need to be carefully socialised with as many different people as possible so that she learns to become more confident. Never punish your puppy for an accident as this will excerbate the habit. Invite a friend into your home and ask him or her to ignore the puppy and most importantly, not to make eye contact. Ask the visitor to sit quietly and allow the puppy to approach in her own time. Your visitor may offer a treat but at this stage must not lunge forward or grab the puppy. Gradually allow the puppy to build her confidence in her own time. As your puppy becomes more relaxed your visitor might engage her with a game. This process should be repeated with as many different people as possible and when out in the park give people a treat to offer your puppy. She will soon begin to enjoy meeting strangers if every time it is associated with fun and reward.
