Dog Friendly 'Out of London' Breaks

4 fabulous short breaks to take with your dog.

This is the time of year when everyone is beginning to feel a little gloomy.  We have struggled through long nights and cold, dark days, Christmas is gone and the summer holidays feel far in the future.

Our perfect remedy to rid you of the winter blues is to take a short break!  Naturally, a short break would be no fun without your dog, so London Dog Forum has come up with four very dog friendly breaks that we know you will enjoy.  We have attempted to provide a variety of choice and to suit all budgets.

Each trip has been tried and tested by London Dog Forum so we can guarantee that you and your dog will enjoy your mini break. Here are four places we have selected just for you and your dog. To read more, click on the categories highlighted in orange at the top of the page.

Le Touquet is slightly more adventurous as it requires use of the pet passport but it will be well worth the trouble especially if you enjoy soaking up some French atmosphere.  Our recommended hotel, The Red Fox is reasonably priced, well-situated and is guaranteed to provide a happy stay for you and your dog.

Westfield has all the charm of the Sussex countryside and is a stone’s throw from the coast.  Judy and Iain Stewart offer a high quality B & B and welcome you and your dog at Four Winds with its lovely garden and fabulous views.

The Amberley Inn near Stroud in Gloucestershire provides Cotswold charm in a scenic location, comfortable en suite rooms, bars, excellent dining facilities and a hotel attractively furnished with antiques and open fires.

The Brocket Arms in Ayot St. Lawrence, Hertfordshire is only 25 miles from the centre of London but is situated in the depth of the countryside.  The Brocket Arms dates back to the 12th century and is steeped in history and Ayot St Lawrence was once home to Bernard Shaw.  The Brocket Arms offers comfortable courtyard rooms for dog owners and has a great restaurant and bars with low oak beamed ceilings and huge inglenook fireplaces.  This trip is ideal for a romantic weekend with the dog, of course, but also a perfect day out from London.
