The high tech solution to homing unwanted dogs......................
* All the dogs pictured on this site are under the care of 'Rescue Remedies' and are looking for their forever home, however, should they have already been adopted by the time you read about this wonderful volunteer group, remember, there are plenty more gorgeous dogs waiting to find a way into your heart.
Saffy doing well in fostercare but still looking for a home!
Dog rescue centres throughout the UK are bursting at the seams with stray and unwanted animals, in particular Staffordshire Bull Terriers. No one wants to see a healthy dog ‘put down’ but in order to home so many dogs it takes a bit of ingenuity. The resourceful group, ‘Rescue Remedies’ have come up with the high tech solution of an internet based rescue which is run solely by volunteers.
‘Rescue Remedies’ specialises in finding homes for terriers, and works alongside two ‘sister’ rescue groups, Terrier Rescue and Staffie Rescue, which are all run by the same voluntary team. They home predominantly to London and the surrounding counties (further afield sometimes when it's the right home for the right dog.)
Using foster homes where possible and boarding kennels near Gatwick and Farnham, the team manage to home 250 dogs a year. They have a strict policy that all dogs should be neutered or spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms prior to homing. They will also insist on a home check.
The volunteers at ‘Rescue Remedies’ are able to match the most appropriate dog for the potential owner’s lifestyle and circumstance through an online questionnaire that must be completed by anyone interested in adopting.
As a rescue group finding dogs their forever homes, Rescue Remedies usually asks for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to enable them to continue their work with homeless dogs.
Anyone interested in rehoming one of the ‘Rescue Remedies’ dogs will need to fill in the online questionnaire that can be found at this link: https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/r7x3s5/

Foster Home Needed For Bruno Until He Find His Forever Home
Bruno is a Collie X and requires someone who is used to handling Collies or Lurchers. He was abandoned by his former owners when he was in kennels. Bruno was very nervous at first but has come on well with the help of his walkers. He is quite a strong dog with high energy levels but would respond well to training. URGENT APPEAL FOR BENNY
This gorgeous whippet lurcher is constantly being overlooked. He is a little nervous due to a lack of kind and confident handling in his puppyhood. He is learning to trust as a young adult dog but still has a few issues that he needs to overcome. There is no doubt that with the right handling he will make a wonderful pet. Still waiting for a home:
Saffy is 7 years old and her situation is desperate. Saffy arrived in our care close to death in Sept 09. Her fosterers cared for her and loved her back to full health. Due to urgent and pressing medical care and unable to deal with their dogs who do not accept Saffy, they are struggled to manage a segregated dog situation. Their situation dictated that they need the freedom to spend precious time together and open up their house.
Saffy is adorable and loves people. She is active, but suffers with hip dysplasia which has been caused from a very harsh life pre-rescue. She only needs 15 minutes walk a day and will lie-in until lunchtime if allowed. She is a true cuddle monster and bonds strongly with people. She would need to be fostered as an only pet and in a quiet household without children. We have a little over a week to find Saffy another foster place or her forever home - Saffy cannot go into kennels.
You can read more about Saffy by visiting her thread at: http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about2181.html
If you think you can help Saffy by either offering her a long-term foster place or a forever home please get in touch completing the appropriate form below.
To offer Saffy an immediate foster place as an only pet then please complete our Fostering questionnaire online on this link: https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/rescue-remedies-fostering-questionnaire/
If you are interested in re-homing Saffy please complete our homing questionnaire https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/r7x3s5/ so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.
We were delighted to hear that Bruno who had been with Rescue Remedies since May 2008 and Dexter who was a slightly more recent addition to the rescue have both found new homes. This proves the old saying 'all good things come to he who waits' but as ever there are always more dogs who are waiting for the same happy conclusion. Below Bruno and Dexter are two more beautiful creatures waiting for someone to give them a permanent home. We are sure that they will bring their new owners as much happiness as they have given them by providing new and loving homes.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Dewi - Collie X Staffie
Dewi is a lovely boy who came from elderly owners and through no fault of his own needs a new home. He is a talented lad with a repertoire of tricks up his sleeve. He is quiet and well-behaved on the lead and gets on well with children but does need to be an only dog. To read more about Dewi http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/about4128.html
Twiggy has really fallen on her feet - all three of them!
This gorgeous little girl, Twiggy has had a tragic start in life and as a result has had a leg amputated and two eye operations. She has been spayed, chipped and vaccinated and currently is living in a foster home with two other Staffies who are models of good behaviour as well as being playmates. Twiggy will make someone, who is willing to continue giving her positive experiences in life, a loving and affectionate pet.
