Co Durham
For Waggy Walkers! Dogs Trust reminds dog lovers to register for Co Durham event
This year’s annual Waggy Walk is taking place in Preston Hall Park, Stockton-on-Tees on Sunday 2nd October, so there’s not long left to register and start signing up sponsors. Dogs Trust is keen to get even more North Eastern dog lovers taking part than ever before and is encouraging them to visit www.waggywalks.co.uk to sign up for their local walk. Now in its third year the nationwide fundraising event is bigger than ever with 12 sponsored walks taking place around the UK. It’s not only dog owners that can take part; anyone can join in the fun and help raise vital funds for Dogs Trust.
Waggy Walk organiser Clare Hopps comments:
“We’re really excited that Waggy Walks is getting nearer. Everyone has their fingers or paws crossed for good weather on Sunday 2nd October!
Lots of people that have already registered have been in training, many with their four-legged friends. But don’t worry, there’s still time to sign up at www.waggywalks.org.uk Each and every pound raised through Waggy Walks sponsorship is used to help look after the thousands of dogs in our care.” Registration for Waggy Walks is £10 per group of up to six people in one of the 12 organised walks. Waggy Walkers can choose between a 5k and 10k route. Participants will be able to download fundraising packs so they can encourage friends and family to sponsor them.
German short- haired Pointer Barnes is taking on the vital role of Waggy Walks mascot this year, so if you can’t make it to any of the events please sponsor Barnes’ walk at www.justgiving.com/waggywalks .
