Dog Breed Owner Clubs

Dog Breed Owner Clubs have many purposes apart from bringing like-minded folk together.  These clubs are set up by dog owners and dog breeders that have experience of a particular breed and can offer all sorts of help and advice to other owners. 

They are knowledgeable about health matters and are often able steer prospective owners towards responsible dog breeders who carry out appropriate health checks and conform to the guidelines given to an accredited dog breeder. They can offer advice on dog training and can steer you towards behaviourists that are familiar with the specific behaviour problems relating to that breed.

If a prospective owner is looking to rescue a specific breed, it is always worth checking with the breed owner clubs first, as they will often have first-hand knowledge of dogs needing homes. 

Occasionally, through a change in personal circumstances, one may be unfortunate enough to need to find a temporary or permanent home for a dog and often it is the breed owners clubs that will be able to help out.

Breed Owner Clubs keep you informed about events being held across the country thus giving you the chance to increase your social circle.

Websites keep owners abreast with the current news on their breed, frequently hold competitions and have fun pages to follow too.
