Appeal For Cracker - Southern Lurcher Rescue
A rescue dog from Southern Lurcher Rescue, a Saluki x Collie called Cracker has recently become very ill with a form of cellulitis. He underwent a skin graft yesterday at the Dick White vet hospital in Newmarket. No-one knows how he developed cellulitis or how he was infected by blood poisoning so quickly, but his leg and chest blew up within days and erupted causing his skin to break open and rot.
We don't know if the graft will be successful, and sadly, if it does not take he will lose his front leg.
Pete of Patrax has set up a fund raising website for him at www.pawtrax.co.uk/cracker The idea is that people buy a block on a grid and upload a smiley picture of their pet etc and a message of support – the cost of a block is £3 (multiple blocks can be purchased) His full story can be read on his SLR forum thread – members of SLR are doing whatever they can to raise funds Please spread the word on Twitter/Facebook/Forums
